SUMMARY:Feast of Fields (Metro Vancouver)
DESCRIPTION:Feast of Fields is FarmFolk CityFolk’s annual local food celebration and signature fundraising event\, held each year on a different farm in the Okanagan Valley\, on Southern Vancouver Island\, and in Metro Vancouver. The Feast is Canada’s largest and longest running local food and beverage festival\, and over the past 25 years FarmFolk CityFolk has hosted 58 Feasts.\nFeast of Fields highlights the connections between farmers and chefs\, fields and tables\, and between farm folks and city folks. With a wine glass and linen napkin in hand\, you’ll stroll across a farmer’s field\, traveling from tent to tent (sometimes through the barn\, past the tractor or around the chicken coop) listening to live music\, and tasting gourmet creations from some of BC’s top chefs\, bakers\, food artisans\, vintners\, brewers\, distillers and other beverage producers.\nFunds raised from these events support FarmFolk CityFolk’s work to cultivate local\, sustainable food systems across British Columbia. \nOn a quiet road in east Richmond\, you’ll discover Rabbit River Farms\, the founders of the popular brand of organic eggs. The farm is a family-run operation owned by Steve Easterbrook who pioneered advancing local sustainable agriculture\, and became the first certified organic egg producer in Canada before such a designation existed! The family’s passion for their work is evident in their acres of happy chickens and delicious farm fresh eggs! \nJoin our YVR team and enjoy Driftwood brews alongside other talented food & beverage vendors from across BC! \n
